Infrastructure Engineer The Infrastructure Engineer's role is to plan, organize, and manage daily IT operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas; specifically network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, telecommunications systems, information security, and data protection. The Infrastructure Engineer will also perform and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. The position supervises the desktop support function and various third-party technology providers. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required. Manage all aspects of network and telecommunications infrastructure (LAN, WAN, firewall and wireless environments, telephony systems) Administer and maintain server infrastructure o Active Directory o SQL Server o Terminal Server Manage/maintain security posture to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices o Firewall configuration/event management o Windows/Active Directory security o Operating System/Vulnerability management and remediation o Develop and enforce policies in-line with regulatory entities Performance and capacity management of all infrastructure components Manage service desk operations, provide technical and administrative support as needed. Provide application support for back office applications Assist with planning and implementation of technology initiatives o Core network infrastructure refresh o Server virtualization o Telephony system replacement o CRM conversion/support o Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Maintain/administer data backup procedures Experience/Skillset Minimum of 5 years of Information Technology experience Comprehensive knowledge of general direction of the information technology industry and evolving technology, products, services, etc. Broad understanding of general business and management practices, computer system design techniques, security controls, and computer operations procedures and techniques Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and VPN concentrators Experience with Dell hardware to include servers, desktops, laptops Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 Experience with Microsoft server technologies Active Directory, SQL Server, Sharepoint Experience with VMware vShere Experience with salesforce.com a plus Competency Requirements Complete complex technical projects Problem solving ability, ability to recognize upcoming issues and remediate with strategic planning Represent the department in a courteous and professional manner Provide excellent customer service to all customers, both internal and external Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment Must possess a strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence Ability to work normal business hours, with occasional night/weekend work as needed
