CIA Marketing Manager

Carson Institutional Alliance, a division of CWM LLC, enables a select community of Financial Advisor Partners, known as Alliance and Strategy Partners, to leverage the Carson organization’s deep knowledge, innovative investment strategies, scale and operational efficiency to provide their affluent investors with highly transparent investment strategies.  Through Carson Institutional Alliance, advisors across the country gain the support they need to do even more for their clients. From customized marketing material to proprietary strategies, we'll help advisors communicate with their clients on a deeper level.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
 
Manages marketing and communications for advisor and new business marketing initiatives. Executes and enforces the company’s branding strategy and standardizes company communication across mediums. Acts as the point person for strategic and tactical communications projects. This is a broad-based position that will handle all aspects of marketing, brand integration and strategy. We’re looking for someone with a wide variety of skills. Ideal candidate will be creative with great strategic ideas for a growing organization and strong writing capabilities.  
 
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Marketing strategic planning: 
  • Enhances Carson Institutional Alliance brand strategy. 
  • Develop strategies to communicate the Carson Institutional Alliance image, mission and values in all communication realms.
  • Co-Develop marketing, branding and integration strategy for Alliance Partners.
  • Develop and monitor expenses for assigned marketing projects. 
     
  1.  Development of marketing materials:
  • Co-Develop of all marketing materials, including print, web, audio and video.
  • Compose copy for marketing pieces. 
  • Oversee the design and layout of marketing materials, working with graphic design resources. 
  • Handle project management of assigned marketing materials: outline strategy, determine purpose of pieces, compose copy, oversee layout and design, and determine appropriate printing and design vendors (managing costs by bidding out as necessary). 

  1.  Develop and cultivate a strong web presence
  • Oversee the design, layout, navigation, and content Carson Institutional Alliance website. 
  • Write compelling website copy. 
  • Serve as main contact with external web development firm. 
  • Develop and manage social media presence for Carson Institutional Alliance.
  • Work with Alliance Partners to build websites based on approved template.

  1. Public Relations
  • Develop public relations strategy as overall marketing plan.
  • Be point of contact to ensure messaging and brand consistency.
     
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, or similar field of study.
  • Minimum of five years of broad-based communications, marketing and leadership experience. 
  • Proficiency using PowerPoint, Presi and other mediums to develop marketing pieces and presentations. 
  • Proven track record of developing finance-based marketing materials in through the writing, design, proofing and execution stages.
  • Strong experience in both writing and editing copy for communications and marketing pieces.
  • Proven experience using social media and SEO tools to cultivate a strong online presence. 
  • Ability to demonstrate previous success through personal portfolio.
  • Industry experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of marketing, advertising and public relations concepts in financial advisory arena to maximize company’s professional image with clients and prospects.
  • Superior writing skills—ability to convey messages in writing in a clear, persuasive manner. 
  • Ability to think creatively when developing marketing materials and concepts. 
  • Superior ability to communicate professionally, clearly and accurately in both written and verbal communication with clients and business partners. 
  • Strong decision making and sound judgment—ability to listen and organize information and make intelligent and timely decisions with a sense of urgency. 
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and motivation to succeed. 
  • Strong attention to detail balanced with strategic thinking.
